Sealer is a product designed to maintain the look of both natural and manufactured stone (Interlock). However, if the sealer is not applied properly, it can lead to discolouration, and even a patchy, film like residual on your stone. Many sealer manufacturer’s recommend you should seal your natural stone, or paving stone every three years. If you require more information about the sealer, and sealing, please ask your sealer brand.
The reality is any type of salt or salt based ice melter may cause damage to your interlock or concrete. However, alternatives such as gritty sand, and, or, Kitty litter will act as an agent to create traction on the surface, but will not work as a melting agent.
If you see water stains appearing in your basement walls, or if you notice water damage somewhere you do not see any plumbing, you may have a basement water leak.
